MG Motor join hands with Prestige group to Electrify Bengaluru

MG Motor India, a subsidiary of China’s SAIC Motor Corporation Limited. They have announced that it will install 100 MG Comet EV chargers in Bengaluru. It is a part of its MG Charge initiative. Prestige Group, one of the leading real estate developers in the country. It will set up the chargers in their buildings and apartments.

The MG Comet EV chargers are intelligent and fast charging stations. That can charge an electric vehicle (EV) up to 80% in less than an hour. The chargers are compatible with all EVs that support the CCS2 (Combined Charging System) plug type. Moreover, the chargers will be accessible to MG customers and EV owners through the MG Charge app.

Through the partnership between MG Motor India and Prestige Group. They aim to promote electric mobility as well as create a robust EV charging infrastructure. In Bengaluru, one of India’s fastest-growing markets for EVs. A recent report by BloombergNEF predicts that 6.8 million EVs will be on the road in India by 2030. Furthermore, Bengaluru will account for 10% of the total demand.

Meanwhile, MG Motor India plans to install 1,000 EV SMART chargers across India by the end of 2023 under its MG Charge initiative. The company has already installed over 300 chargers in 24 cities. Such as Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nagpur, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin and Coimbatore.

In addition, MG Motor India currently offers two EV models in India – the MG ZS EV and the MG Astor. The MG ZS EV is a compact SUV that provides a range of 419 km on a single charge. It comes with features like i-SMART EV 2.0 connected car technology, a panoramic sunroof, PM 2.5 filter and kinetic energy recovery system. On the other hand, an AI assistant called CAAP (Car as a Platform). It interacts with the driver and passengers using natural language processing in the MG Astor, a mid-size SUV. The MG Astor also has a range of 400 km on a single charge and supports over-the-air updates.”
